Our Work
A look at the kinds of news video we produce: street coverage, studio interviews, edit suites and live positions, shown through the way each job is set up and handled.
Coverage and studio sessions we handle
Here is a look at the jobs our crews and editors handle for television news, from the first frame to final delivery. Each shows the practical choices we make when we shoot, light and deliver.
Handheld coverage of a street incident
The operator works from a safe position with a wide establishing shot, then moves to close detail and cutaways. Footage is logged as it is shot so the desk can find usable pictures quickly.
Two-chair studio interview
Soft key lighting and a neutral backdrop keep the guest comfortable and the picture clean. Sound is checked before recording so the edit does not have to rescue speech afterwards.
Low-light evening report
For a story shot after dark, the camera is set to hold detail in faces without lifting noise in the shadows. A small on-camera light is used sparingly so the scene still looks natural.
Same-day edit for a lunchtime bulletin
Rushes are trimmed to the running order, captions are added and the package is exported to the broadcaster's specification. The editor checks the file plays before it is sent.
Live position set up outside a venue
The camera, tripod and signal path are tested before the slot so the reporter can go on air without delay. A second check is made on audio return from the gallery.
Newsroom ingest and approvals review
We sit with a news desk to map how files arrive and who signs them off. The result is a short written list of changes that remove waiting time between shoot and air.
